The Phoenix Mercury defeated the Detroit Shock in Game 5 of the WNBA Finals 108-92 to win the WNBA Championship. Diana Taurasi had 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. The biggest story of this game had to be Penny Taylor of the Mercury. Taylor had 30 points and was 18-18 from the charity stripe. Phoenix's Cappie Pondexter was named Finals MVP. This is the franchise's first WNBA Title. What a great series between the two teams going all the way to Game 5 with Phoenix pulling it out. Congratulations to the Phoenix Mercury.
